Ceylon continues to look great, but is aging. She freshened in 2023 with twin does, both were retained. All together there are 6 Ceylon daughters in the herd: SGCH Jordan EX92, SGCH (pend) oo-Long EX92, Morae VG89, Prada (dry yearling)) Ryka and Rakura. She has more than proven herself...as a show doe and as a brood doe. I say she is retired but if she comes into a natural heat and settles to an AI, then we will see.

Haiku is another very special doe. Whenever I am out in the barn, she always catches my eye, she is so striking. She is so smooth and elegant. Her mammary system is high and wide with exceptional attachment.

I love this doe! She is the energizer bunny...Not only is she a show doe, that can do it all, but she can replicate herself! See her milking daughters in the herd...Katana, o_Nji and Prose; and keep your eyes out for the up and coming ones Renga and Renku!

First is a beautiful doe with lots of width and depth and she milks well. She and Haiku duke it out as to who is the matriarch of the herd. She has incredible breed character about the head, great flatness of bone and length. She was my first LaMancha National Champion and will always have a place in my heart. I love this goat, and to say I am disappointed and sad, is to put it mildly, but we have not been able to get her bred for 2 years. She was one we had planned to do IVF in 2022, but when they opened her up and looked at her ovaries, they said she had too many adhesions, and could not harvest any oocytes. We continue to have her live with the bucks during breeding season in the hopes she surprises us. If it happens any resulting kids will need to be DNA typed.

2023 was her year! She was the Reserve National Champion, appraised EX93, and projected to milk almost 4000#, what more could I ask for? She exudes dairy strength, her length and levelness is beautiful to watch, especially on the move. Her temperament is also pleasant to work with, she is special but doesn't seem to know it..

I love this doe's strength and dairyness, in addition to having a strong well attached mammary that milks. The rear udder is so high and wide, her teats could be smaller, but they are acceptable. In addition, she has such width; I would love a dozen more of her!

Marne is one of those does that has everything but the milk and capacity to fit her frame, she is a "giant" of a doe! With a rump that is over 8" wide, and the depth of body that makes one drool...She's the one I also would like a doe out of...so we will see. As we all know, we can't keep them all, though I do my best lol.

 As a first freshener in 2022, Morae freshened with basically only half an udder, but that half "oh my..." the height of the rear was incredible...a Ceylon daughter, I couldn't but not take a chance on her. Well, 2023 she freshened the bad side has more milk, but she was definitely still only milking from one side. I really want a doe kid, so we are going to try again one more time.

Naginata had a rough start to the 2023 kidding season, aborting a month before her due date with a single large dead buck. We did our best to try and bring her into  milk, but the stress of a bad kidding and everything else it just wasn't meant to be, so she took the year off. She has grown well, and looks to be a pretty fancy 3 year old. We are looking forward to seeing her fresh.

This doe is so elegant...high headed, dairy and stylish. I look at her, and I just really, really like what I see, one of those "feel good" goats. She has really matured from 2022, since her appraisal. She has been shown, and has consistently been 1st or 2nd...she did not go to Nationals. Her mammary is high and wide, with pretty teats.

I love the depth and width to this doe. Unfortunately, she ended 2022 with a bad case of mastitis and freshened in 2023, with only half an udder. Even so, she has milked well and we have high hopes that with treatment we will get her in the show ring in 2024. We love her so much, we kept her son and daughter in the herd.

When I bred Belizze to Modern Man, this doe is exactly what I had hope for...like her mother at this age, she is very immature, but has an impressive mammary, very high scoring a 40. She needs more body depth and width, which will come with maturity. She is an exciting one to watch for in the future.

Playful missed the show season, as she didn't freshen until the end of July with a single doe kid (of course). As all our kids were weaned, we didn't feel we could raise a single kid on the bottle by herself (read...we didn't want to) so we allowed Playful to raise her daughter, Rollick. We can deal with Rollick's attitude later. In an attempt to keep Playful even we taped the one side that Rollick has chosen as "her side," and that seems to be working. Playful's mammary is outstanding...as we would hope from this breeding; her rear udder height scored "44!" Fore udder attachment, and rear udder arch was 37! Not too shabby! She just needs to grow into herself.
